Inclusive Access - Student Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

WELCOME TO INCLUSIVE ACCESS!
You have enrolled in a course that has chosen an Inclusive Access title. This means that your required course materials will be available the first day of class in digital format. For your convenience, you will be billed for your materials on your MyKU account. It’s that easy.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF INCLUSIVE ACCESS?

Inclusive Access is a collaboration between your professor, KU Campus Store, the Office of Student Accounts, the Office of Distance Education, and publishers to provide required course materials at a significantly reduced cost.  When a professor makes the decision to participate in this program, all students registered for the class automatically receive access to these materials.

HOW DO I ACCESS MY MATERIALS?

All Inclusive Access (IA) materials will be accessed through information provided to you by your professor. Depending on the type of materials it may be available as an e-book to be read in D2L, or your professor may have you go to a website to access the materials. You may be required to have a code from the professor and a personal access code which can be found in an email from KU Campus Store.

HOW DO I PAY FOR MY ACCESS?

You may have already paid for access when you paid other tuition and fees. Remember to check your MyKU account to be sure your materials have been paid for. If you added the course late you may still need to pay.

WHAT IF I DROP THE COURSE?

If you paid for materials and you dropped the class you will receive a refund on your MyKU account.

WHAT IF I DON'T WANT TO PARTICIPATE IN INCLUSIVE ACCESS?

U Campus Store has worked with the publisher to negotiate the lowest cost for your course materials. These materials are required by your instructor and are an integral part of the course.  There may be added interactive courseware content that is designed to make the reading more engaging, which increases comprehension and retention of the material and can ultimately lead to greater academic success.

You may choose to opt out of this program. Please be advised that by choosing to opt out, your online content will be turned off and you will lose access to graded assignments only available through this program, as well as the lowest cost digital content available.  Upon opting out, you will receive an email confirmation and you will not be billed.

Should you choose to opt out by the end of add/drop, you can find the opt out button by clicking the link in your email from KU Campus Store that was sent to your KU email.
